On June 7, 2025, MBC’s variety show The Manager released a preview clip teasing their upcoming episode featuring BTS’ j-hope. In the two-minute 37-second clip posted on MBC’s official social media platforms, j-hope and BTS' longtime manager, Sejin, disclosed that the artist had suffered a high-grade fever of 39.5°C (103° Fahrenheit) during the Mexico leg of his HOPE ON THE STAGE world tour.

Sejin shared in the clip:

“I checked his temperature and it was 39.5°C (103.1°F)... As soon as he saw me, he asked me to save him.”

The short moment highlighted just how unwell j-hope had been at the time. Despite the condition, he reportedly continued with the show and did not let fans sense any discomfort on stage.

After the clip was released, fans took to social media to express their admiration and concern. Many shared their respect and pride for the BTS star, noting how much he gave to fans despite physical hardship. One fan wrote:

"Oh no! Let's hope this doesn’t happen to to him again. Cause that's so scary"

Many fans shared their shock at the revelation and admired the K-pop idol for continuing with the show despite his condition.

“Almost 40° is totally insane, like at such tempreture ppl usually call ambulance and have a day off school/work/university, I honestly have no idea how Hoseok (even if tempreture was pulled down by doctor) pulled it off & it was not just chill clerk day by table but intense stage,” a fan wrote.
“And regardless of how bad he was feeling, it never showed on stage, he still gave it his all, his professionalism and desire to give the best experience to his fans is what sets him apart,” a fan commented.
“I went to that concert, i cannot believe how sick he was, istg it didn't show one bit. he's the strongest most determined person in the whole world. we're so damn fortunate to have him as our singer,” a fan shared their personal experience.

Some even praised the manager for taking care of him.

“Jhope, your love for ARMY and your love and dedication to your craft does not go unnoticed. I appreciate and love you..I’m glad he has a team beside him that can take care of him and make sure he’s okay,” a fan emotionally expressed.
“The manager must be very sweet on him to act like that. You can tell that the manager is very nice,” a fan praised.
"That’s terrible when he was sick since during tour in Mexico and I’m glad that his manager saved his life to look after Thank you so much for recovery He couldn’t done without you Please take care for Hobi," another added.

MBC's The Manager featuring j-hope will be released on June 14

BTS’ j-hope is all set to appear on MBC’s variety show The Manager, with the episode offering a behind-the-scenes look into his everyday life and recent concert activities.

Known for showcasing celebrities' daily routines through the lens of their managers, the show will spotlight j-hope’s quiet moments off stage, from lounging around in his hotel room in Bangkok, Thailand, to candid reflections ahead of BTS’ long-awaited reunion.

In the preview clip released on June 7, j-hope shares his feelings about the group coming back together after completing their mandatory military service. He said:

“There’s really less than a month left until the members are discharged. I can’t believe BTS’s discharge is already here.”

j-hope is also seen growing emotional as he reminisces about the days when BTS used to gather and share meals during tours, making fans nostalgic for their early days as a group.

In addition to emotional insights, on June 6, he became the first Korean soloist to gross over $4 million from a single U.S. concert, generating approximately $4.4 million per show at Los Angeles’ BMO Stadium. With the conclusion of his HOPE ON THE STAGE world tour, fans are now eagerly awaiting the two encore concerts scheduled in Goyang on June 13 and 14, dates that also mark BTS’ 12th debut anniversary.
