The Black Eyed Peas shared a post on Instagram on June 5, 2025, featuring all the band members on colorful Vespas. In the caption, the group talked about two decades of working together and asked fans to "stay tuned."

The caption read:

"Riding into 20 years like"

Pop Crave shared the news on X, and fans immediately questioned whether the tease signaled new music or a full original lineup reunion.

This post sparked reactions from fans, demanding Fergie's comeback.

"Fergie better be there," wrote an X user.
"And it better be FERGILICIOUS… mazel tov" wrote another netizen.
"That better be Fergie," said a fan.
"FERGIE FERG better be spitting rhymes," said another.
"You can't say that you're 20 if Fergie isn't there" stated a user.
"If Fergie isn’t there then they can keep it no shade," wrote one user.

However, not everyone was pleased. Some users were unfazed by the news and blamed recession for the same:

"Nobody wants this in 2025," said a user.
"Actual recession indicator," wrote one user.
"Recession remix," said another.
"Does it really matter?" asked a user.
"Recession indicator," wrote another.

The group—originally formed in 1995 with will.i.am, apl.de.ap, and Taboo—reached peak popularity after adding Fergie in 2003, though she departed in 2018 to focus on motherhood.

Following Fergie’s exit, the Black Eyed Peas continued as a trio before welcoming J. Rey Soul as a touring member later in 2018. She contributed to their seventh album, Masters of the Sun Vol. 1 (2018), and subsequent releases, Translation (2020) and Elevation (2022).

Despite new collaborations, including hits with Maluma and Ozuna, fans' enthusiasm for Fergie’s return was reflected through their social media reactions to the anniversary tease. Members previously clarified her departure was amicable; will.i.am noted in a Billboard interview in June 2020, she was "focusing on being a mom," adding:

"We love Fergie, and we don’t want anything but awesomeness for her."

apl.de.ap shared a similar sentiment, and called Fergie their "sister" while also acknowledging scheduling conflicts due to her parenting priorities. The Black Eyed Peas’ cryptic Vespa photos did not confirm Fergie’s involvement, leaving supporters to interpret the ambiguous "stay tuned" prompt.

The Black Eyed Peas’ Vespa post featured all four historical members, will.i.am, apl.de.ap, Taboo, and Fergie. This composition reportedly fueled assumptions of her participation, contrasting with their post-2018 releases that credited J. Rey Soul.

Neither the group nor Fergie has clarified if the post implies new music, a tour, or symbolic acknowledgment. The June 5 announcement follows Elevation’s 2022 release. The group’s anniversary aligns with Elephunk’s 2003 launch.

Black Eyed Peas' latest post on Instagram, dated June 6, announced they're dropping The Monkey Business (20th Anniversary Edition) Digital Deluxe soon.
