John Cena is reportedly going to be in a major WWE rivalry starting with tonight's edition of RAW. This week's episode of the red brand will be the first show following Money in the Bank 2025 and will air live from the PHX Arena in Phoenix, Arizona.
Cory Hays of BodySlam shared an interesting post on X/Twitter ahead of tonight's edition of RAW. The wrestling insider tweeted an image of John Cena and CM Punk having a staredown from their rivalry in the past.
Viper Reports then reposted the image and suggested that the company could start teasing the rivalry during tonight's show.
John Cena teamed up with Logan Paul to battle Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso in the main event of Money in the Bank this past Saturday. R-Truth, who had supposedly left the company, made a stunning return to the promotion during the match.
The veteran leveled Cena with a Spear, and Cody Rhodes capitalized by hitting the Cross Rhodes for the pinfall victory. The Franchise Player had defeated The American Nightmare in the main event of WrestleMania 41 to capture the Undisputed WWE Championship.
Wrestling legend and Hall of Famer Teddy Long recently claimed that John Cena was a heel in real life.
Cena stunned the wrestling world by turning heel after winning the Men's Elimination Chamber Match earlier this year. He aligned with The Rock and Travis Scott at the event and took out Rhodes. The popular rapper showed up again during John Cena's bout against Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 41 to help him win the Undisputed WWE Championship.
Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's The Wrestling Time Machine podcast, Teddy Long suggested that Cena's heel turn had not been a failure so far because it is who the 48-year-old is in real life, hence, playing the role came to him naturally.
"I don't think it's [John Cena's heel run] a failure, and the reason why I don't think it's a failure is because I think it puts Cena right where he wants to be. Cena in real life is a heel. A lot of times, you don't have to turn guys. Lot of times, you know what I mean, It works perfect for 'em," Long said. [4:30 onwards]

CM Punk has been in a rivalry with Seth Rollins for several months on WWE RAW. Rollins won the Men's Money in the Bank Ladder Match at the PLE this past Saturday night and is guaranteed a future title shot.
