Asuka made her return to WWE after over a year on the shelf due to injury. She made a massive change (or return) to her character following her comeback.
It was surprising to many fans that WWE simply announced the return of The Empress of Tomorrow, who had been out of action for 13 months. She was advertised for the Queen of the Ring tournament's first-round match, and her competition was stiff as she had to go up against Raquel Rodriguez, Ivy Nile, and the formidable Stephanie Vaquer.
What was interesting was that Asuka reverted back to her old theme song, "The Future," which was her original entrance theme when she debuted in WWE. It was in 2023 when she returned at the Royal Rumble with a new theme song. It seems like, after two years, the decision to can that song has been made.
Her newer theme song was called "You Can't Hide," and it followed a similar tone to her original. The 2023 Royal Rumble was also when she debuted her incredible face paint look.
It looks like she will be going forward without Iyo Sky and Kairi Sane after it was reported that Damage CTRL would be disbanding for good.
The Empress of Tomorrow, Asuka, qualified for the semifinals of the Queen of the Ring tournament and will face Alexa Bliss.
