4 reasons Becky Lynch vs. Lyra Valkyria should be the main event of WWE Evolution 2

WWE Evolution is back! The Premium Live Event is taking place in less than a month, and fans are over the moon. This is because it has been a long time since the previous edition of what will hopefully now be a yearly spectacular.

The first-ever edition of Evolution took place seven years ago in 2018. The event was well-received, and many hoped it would become a yearly tradition, but it hasn't been held since. At least, not until next month.

For now, not much has been announced for the massive premium live event. Two stars who are expected to be on the show are Becky Lynch and Lyra Valkyria. Not only that, but they will likely clash.

If Becky Lynch vs. Lyra Valkyria does happen at Evolution 2, it should be the main event. There are multiple reasons for this, some of which will be outlined in this article. These reasons include elevating Lyra to new heights, the likelihood of a stipulation, and more.

Below are four reasons Becky Lynch vs. Lyra Valkyria should be the main event of WWE Evolution 2.

#4. A stipulation could be attached to the match given that it'd be their third bout

The story of Becky Lynch and Lyra Valkyria has been a fascinating one. Becky served as a mentor to Lyra for years, and they even won the WWE Women's Tag Team Titles together at WrestleMania. Unfortunately, Becky turned on Lyra once they lost the gold.

So far, the two talented women have had two major matches on WWE's main roster. They first fought at Backlash, where Lyra Valkyria stood tall. The pair then had a rematch at Money in the Bank, and this time, Becky Lynch won.

Given the personal nature of this feud and that they're two matches deep already, a third match will likely be given a stipulation. For example, it could be a Street Fight. Alternatively, they could have a Steel Cage Match. Regardless, a bout of that significance would certainly deserve main event billing at Evolution.

#3. This bout will likely be the match of the night

As noted, Becky Lynch and Lyra Valkyria have had two major matches at two Premium Live Events this year. Their first bout, which took place at WWE Backlash in St. Louis, was great.

Their second match happened at WWE Money in the Bank, and it was arguably even better than the first contest. While Lyra stood tall the first time, Becky won the second. Regardless of the finish, both matches were arguably the match of the night on the show they were on.

There is no doubt that the two could replicate that success once again. This time, however, the two incredible RAW stars could be given the main event spot. This means they won't have to steal the show; they can instead be positioned to be the best and then deliver.

#2. Lyra Valkyria would be elevated to new heights if given a main event spot

Lyra Valkyria is the future of WWE. She, alongside stars such as Roxanne Perez, Tiffany Stratton, and Giulia, is the next generation of female stars on RAW and SmackDown.

While Tiffany Stratton is the WWE Women's Champion, Lyra hasn't quite been pushed as hard. She has received a steady push, after all, she is a former Women's Intercontinental Champion and Women's Tag Team Champion. Still, she isn't a top star yet.

That could change at Evolution. Becky Lynch and Lyra main eventing will mean that the so-called "bird lady" will officially be a top star in the company. The decision would elevate Lyra to new heights in the company.

#1. Becky Lynch should have main-evented the last WWE Evolution show

This will be the second-ever Evolution Premium Live Event. WWE held its first event in 2018, and it was a well-received show featuring a wealth of talented performers. With that being said, there was one strange booking decision.

The show featured Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte Flair in a Last Woman Standing Match. They wrestled for 30 minutes and put on an absolute banger. That wasn't the main event, however. Instead, WWE and Vince McMahon opted to have Nikki Bella vs. Ronda Rousey wrestle for less than half the time in a normal match, and that was what went on last.

Becky should have headlined Evolution, and the fact that she didn't was a very strange booking decision. Lyra and Lynch should main event Evolution 2 so The Man can get the moment she should have had seven years ago.
