The 27-year-old has previously acted in minor roles in films such as Bad Teacher and Life Inside Out, as well as television series including Glee, Modern Family, and Aquarius.

Last year, he appeared in the Apple TV+ miniseries Disclaimer and the Peacock comedy series Laid.

On November 26, 2024, the record producer and artist did an interview with Nylon, discussing his budding acting career.

Finneas stated that his decision to get into acting is "hilarious," and he's satisfied with his music career.

Even if filmmakers and directors don't work with him, he'll be fine, as he has accomplished all the things he wanted to do.

"I've been so lucky in my whole career that the idea that now I'm trying to go be an actor is a little hilarious. In terms of my music career, even as a solo artist, I've surpassed the hopes that I had for that. So if the acting world, filmmakers, directors are like, Nah — I've had a great run. I've done all the things I wanted to do," he stated.

The artist told the media outlet that he's interested in family-oriented and romantic films. He stated that not everyone needs to enjoy war or sci-fi movies to appreciate cinema, theater, and art.

"I'm interested in small stories about a family or a romantic relationship or a relationship over the course of many years. When I think of my favorite pieces of film and theater and art, it's not necessarily about a war or a spaceship or something like that. It's just people," he said.

While he stated that he would love to work with Greta Gerwig and Alfonso Cuarón, the artist also shared that he doesn't want to express all his wishes openly. The musician told the media outlet that he wants his acting career to unfold naturally.

"It's more satisfying to be close to the chest about it and let it unfold. That would be like telling somebody: 'Hey, do you want to see this movie?' And then telling them everything that happens in it. I'd rather just let it happen," he stated.

Finneas' second studio album, For Cryin' Out Loud!, was released on October 4, 2024. His last acting project, the Peacock rom-com series Laid, was released on December 19, 2024.
