BTS' Jin received a heartfelt handwritten note from Coldplay's Chris Martin as a thank-you for joining them on stage. On May 31, a video titled Coldplay Concert Guest Appearance Shoot Sketch was released on YouTube, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the band's Seoul concert, where the BTS star made a special guest appearance.
After their first performance together, Chris personally handed the Loser singer a card, which he read aloud on camera. Fans were moved by the warm gesture but also amused by an unexpected twist: Chris's handwriting turned out to be a bit difficult to read. He hilariously misread a few words, including reading "brother" as "broken," prompting laughter from fans online.
Chris had also doodled what looked like an elephant face on the side of the card, but no one could make out what it was supposed to be. The whole message in the card read:
"For Jin, our brother, Coldplay."
This was accompanied by a heart and an infinity symbol drawn by Chris.
The BTS star, clearly touched by the gesture, affectionately referred to him as "Martin Hyung," using the Korean honorific for an older brother. This small but meaningful exchange left ARMYs moved, with many taking to the comments to express just how special the bond between Jin and Coldplay, especially Chris Martin, has become.
One fan commented:
"i love watching chris and seokjin interactions bc you can tell they just genuinely adore each other like yes chris seokjin deserves cards and love letttre yes pls proceed this is exactly how we need to treat him."
The fans appreciated their friendship and bond, coupling their names and joining them.
“My ColdJin hearteu,” commented another fan.
“Their friendship is my favorite thing,” a fan expressed.
“This is so wholesome. I love their friendship.” A fan remarked.
Some fans expressed thinking of how the idol must have felt like:
“I feel like Jin is over the moon being a Coldplay fan from getting a guitar, doing a song, performing in their concerts and then this letter..a successful fan,” a fan mentioned.
“THIS IS SO CUTE,” a fan exclaimed.
“This is exactly how we need to treat him,” a fan stated about the BTS star.
On April 19, the Don't Say You Love Me singer made a surprise appearance at Coldplay's concert in Seoul, delighting fans with an emotional reunion between the two global artists. Known for their strong bond, he and Coldplay's Chris Martin shared the stage once again for an exceptional performance that fans had long hoped to witness.
The duo performed The Astronaut, their collaborative single, with Chris Martin on the piano and Jin lending his vocals. They also treated the audience to a rendition of BTS' My Universe, adding an extra layer of nostalgia to the night.
The BTS member returned to the stage as a guest performer for a second show on April 25, making both nights even more memorable.
A recently released behind-the-scenes video captured moments from both concerts, offering glimpses of the idol and Chris Martin's chemistry offstage, as well as rehearsals and candid exchanges that warmed the hearts of fans.
At the end of the video, he expressed his gratitude, saying:
“I’m grateful that I had the chance to be a part of such an amazing, fun concert. I’m so thankful to Coldplay for giving me the opportunity to join them for a special performance. I’d also like to give a big thanks to the audience — and I heard that some of our fans came here because they knew I’d be here. I’m very grateful to them as well. A huge thanks to everyone who was a part of this experience."
BTS is set to officially return from the military as a whole on June 21, and fans are counting down the days.
