On June 9, 2025, YG Entertainment revealed that BLACKPINK had started filming for their upcoming music video on June 6th at a confidential spot in Seoul.
The agency confirmed that a globally recognized director is leading the production. The video, shot entirely in South Korea, is described as a large-scale visual capturing the group’s creative image and sound.
"We are shooting the music video in partnership with a famous director from overseas. It will be an iconic video that comprises all of Blackpink's identity and music," YG stated (as reported via Korea JoongAng Daily).
Details like the track name, style, and drop date haven’t been shared yet. However, since filming has kicked off, the comeback is in active progress. YG mentioned there are no delays in the schedule, following the plan laid out by executive producer Yang Hyun-suk.
"Although we don't have a confirmed date yet, news about BLACKPINK's new song will also be announced soon," Yang said in a YouTube video posted on May 25th.
Many are expressing mixed feelings about BLACKPINK’s comeback. While some joke about the long wait and speculate on filming details, others voice frustration over the lack of group content, delays in album releases, and limited updates.
“I will believe this when I see the music video," an X user commented.
This signifies BLACKPINK’s initial full-team music release in almost three years. Until now, members were focusing on solo work, brand deals, and other individual activities. Additional information remains to be disclosed.
"The comback is expected to release in 2067," a fan remarked.
"Don't tell me they filmed it separately," a user mentioned.
"Unfortunately I will probably love it. but I am still angry at the lack of updates we get, the no group content ever, no album release in time for the tour," a person shared.
Meanwhile, others are buzzing online as Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa reunite for a collaboration, with many highlighting the scale and impact of this comeback.
"Four soloist in one music video??? history is being made," a netizen said.
"Oh it’s over for the rest of kpop. The queens of kpop are back. Playtime is over," a viewer noted.
"Jisoo, jennie, rosé & lisa coming together for a collaboration?? this is going to be massive," another fan added.
