Exploring further Diddy and R Kelly’s connection to B2K’s ‘Bump, Bump, Bump’

Bump, Bump, Bump was released in October 2002 as the lead single from B2K's third and final studio album, Pandemonium! It featured Diddy as a guest vocalist, who also co-produced the vocals with R Kelly. The latter also co-wrote the lyrics with Varick Smith.

While Diddy also contributed to the mixing, R. Kelly acted as composer, arranger, co-mixer, and background vocalist. Meanwhile, the music video, which dropped in November 2002, featured B2K members and Diddy. Chris Stokes and Erik White directed it.

The song became the boy band's first and only top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart, reaching number one for a week starting in February 2003.

Bump, Bump, Bump blended hip-hop and R&B genres with touches of classic soul and teen pop. It was dropped under the TUG and Epic Records labels. Initially, the track was 4 minutes and 47 seconds long. However, it had other versions, including CD singles, radio remixes, instrumentals, a cappella, club mixes, bonus beats, and more.

There was a remix featuring DJ Whoo Kidd and 50 Cent. Another DJ Static remix featured collaborations with Jay-Z and 50 Cent.

Diddy is currently on trial for sex trafficking and racketeering charges. He has continued to plead not guilty. Meanwhile, R Kelly has been in federal prison since his conviction in the s*xual abuse of minors in 2019. He is serving a 31-year sentence at FCI Butner Medium I in North Carolina.
