The Philippines and Tajikistan will battle for three points in a 2027 Asian Cup qualifier on Tuesday (June 10th). The game will be played at the Rizai Memorial Stadium.
The home side will be looking to build on the 4-1 home win they registered over Maldives in the qualifiers last time out in March 2025. They were two goals ahead at the break thanks to goals from Jefferson David Tabinas and Bjorn Kristensen. Ali Fasir pulled one back for the visitors just past the hour-mark while Randy Schneider and Sandro Reyes scored to complete the rout.
Tajikistan, meanwhile, prepared for this game with a 2-1 win over Cambodia in a friendly last week. All three goals were scored in the second half, with Shakhrom Samiev and Ekhson Pandzhshanbe scoring for Tajikistan while Ratanak Min pulled one back.
The Crowns will turn their focus to the Asian Cup qualifiers where their game saw them claim a 1-0 home win over East Timor in March.
The respective wins left both sides joint-top of Group A on three points.
The Philippines were the favorites to advance from this group and they will be aiming to claim maximum points here to steer further clear at the summit of the standings.
Tajikistan, for their part, qualified for the Asian Cup for the first time in their history in 2023. They are seeking to qualify for consecutive editions and winning here could be imperative to their chances of achieving this.
We are backing the home side to claim a narrow victory with goals at both ends.
Prediction: The Philippines 2-1 Tajikistan
Tip 1 - The Philippines to win
Tip 2 - Both teams to score
Tip 3 - Over 2.5 goals
