Former WWE Champion Seth Rollins has been making headlines with the mind games he and his faction have been playing on RAW lately. While his faction members, Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed, both failed to advance in the King of the Ring tournament, they managed to steal the spotlight with their post-match attacks.
This week on RAW, Bronson Reed ended up losing the qualifier match to Jey Uso, but Seth Rollins came out to attack the former World Heavyweight Champion. While Mr. Money in the Bank couldn’t attack Jey after Cody Rhodes made his way out, he managed to send a subtle message to the entire roster.
Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins have a long history with each other, which has confused fans a lot lately. The two came face to face twice in the past couple of weeks but avoided any action, which has been questioned by fans. This has been a massive tease of a big heel turn for Cody Rhodes, who hasn't played a villain in WWE since 2016.
Considering the hints, the American Nightmare could shock the world and align with Seth Rollins and his faction on a stage like Night of Champions to become the next Paul Heyman guy and get back to the top.
While Rhodes was earlier rumored to sell his soul to The Rock and turn heel, this could be the beginning of an even bigger story, which could lead up to The Rock as well sometime in the future. With a plethora of possibilities open, only time will tell what WWE has in store for the stars next.
Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins go a long way back and have had a lot of ups and downs in their storylines over the past couple of years. The once-bitter rivals ended up teaming with each other back at WrestleMania XL, followed by Rollins helping Rhodes win the Undisputed WWE Championship.
During a recent edition of the What Do You Wanna Talk About? podcast, the American Nightmare addressed working with the Visionary, revealing that the two had to produce a WWE event together.
"We had a situation where we needed to get to Omaha or get out of Omaha, and I thought I would be a big baller and save the day. There were no commercial flights going, they were clearly getting delayed or canceled…That was the trouble…We had a show to do, and remember, no producers. [It was] me and Seth... We were producers, and it was a show that had a commission, so we actually had to do work. It wasn't like, 'Hey, you're good, we know your match, hey, twelve minutes,' none of that. That was all, pretty much." [From 45:00 onwards]
While fans don’t know the entire story of Seth and Cody producing an event, it is clear that they would love to see both men in the ring together once again, either with each other or against each other.
