Money in the Bank 2025 was a successful night for Seth Rollins as he became Mr. Money in the Bank for the second time in his career. With a guaranteed title shot at any time, any place, The Visionary is on top of the world right now. However, it is possible that his reign as Mr. MITB could come to an end at the upcoming Night of Champions Premium Live Event, courtesy of CM Punk.
Seth Rollins achieved a rare feat by winning the Money in the Bank ladder match for the second time. The only other person to do this is his arch-nemesis, CM Punk. The Second City Saint went back-to-back at WrestleMania XXIV and WrestleMania 25, becoming the first person to win the MITB ladder match twice.
Seth Rollins and CM Punk have been at odds with each other since Punk made his return to WWE at Survivor Series 2023. The rivalry has resulted in various matches involving the two superstars, and interestingly, Rollins has not been able to score a pinfall victory over CM Punk.
Punk has brought this up numerous times, and he could do it again to provoke Rollins, now that The Visionary holds the MITB briefcase. The Straight Edge Superstar could mock Seth Rollins by boasting that he was the first person to become Mr. MITB twice and challenge The Visionary to put his contract on the line at Night of Champions. An irate Rollins may succumb to Punk's mind games and agree to a match at the upcoming PLE on June 28.
Since the inception of the MITB ladder match, the contract has been defended separately on numerous occasions. Out of them, on two occasions, the original winner has lost the MITB briefcase to a challenger. Mr. Kennedy lost it to Edge in 2007, and Otis lost it to The Miz in 2020. If Seth Rollins defends his contract against The Second City Saint, we may see it change hands once again, as CM Punk could defeat The Visionary and become Mr. MITB for a record-setting third time.
That said, it is just speculation for now. Rollins will have a golden opportunity to cash in on RAW tonight, and fans must tune in to see if he reclaims the world title.
LA Knight faced another setback at Money in the Bank 2025 as Seth Rollins walked out of Intuit Dome with the MITB contract, ending The Megastar's aspirations of being Mr. MITB in his third straight attempt. Knight was a fan favorite going into the match, but it was The Visionary who came out on top at the end.
WWE veteran Jonathan Coachman responded to a fan question on X about LA Knight not winning the MITB briefcase and expressed frustration regarding The Megastar's booking in the Stamford-based promotion. The veteran also pitched that LA Knight should join Seth Rollins' faction, as it could revitalize the 42-year-old star's career.
"I feel bad for him. I really do. HHH say(s) “great things come to those who wait”. He isn’t 22 years old. What does he have to wait for? Just say it wasn’t his time or something. If I didn’t feel so strongly that the WWE needs a faction again I would be more pro LA Knight to win the MITB. But I love dominant factions. Always have. So I am wanting to see where this goes and who they add to it. To be honest, we’ve been discussing who could be the fourth member of that group and if you say the name, LA Knight, I wouldn’t hate it. You’ve got two enforcers already. Why not have a guy who can talk really well has charisma and looks great in a suit. So maybe they could have a segment where Seth Ron [Rollins] said hey you really impressed me in there. What do you think about this. Or something like that," Coachman wrote.
