The latest episode of WWE RAW saw Sami Zayn punch his ticket to the King of the Ring semi-finals, qualifying for the match by beating top contenders like Dominik Mysterio, Penta, and Bron Breakker in a Fatal 4-way contest. Interestingly, the Honorary Uce could qualify for the finals and go against a former champion, potentially sending him packing from Wrestling Juggernaut.
Sami Zayn and former NXT Champion Karrion Kross have been going back-and-forth verbal tussling for weeks in backstage segments. WWE has left one mystery slot for the qualifying round on RAW next week. Fans and experts have been buzzing to put Kross in the bout.
Kross has been getting a massive response from the fans demanding that the Stamford-based promotion give him a push. In a shocking twist, the Herald of Doomsday could emerge as a mystery participant and even win the match, qualifying for the bout.
Zayn and Kross could win the Semi-finals and get booked to face each other in the finals. Kross and Zayn could be a massive box office, as Sami gets a hometown retort at any Saudi shows. Meanwhile, Karrion has emerged as the top fan favorite. Additionally, they have been developing a storyline for weeks.
However, shockingly, the Honorary Uce could beat the former NXT champion, prompting him to leave WWE, marking it as his final match with the company, as his contract with the promotion is set to expire this summer, and there are no reports of him resigning a new deal.
Alternatively, even if Kross signs a new deal with World Wrestling Entertainment, creatively, he could still leave the company in kayfabe and return just like R-Truth, creating another thunderous moment.
That said, the angle proposed above is speculative, and nothing has been confirmed.
While speaking on the SportsKeeda Wrestling’s BroDown, former WWE writer Vince Russo expressed his views on Karrion Kross not getting a qualifying match and being snubbed.
Russo pitched that Kross should leave the Stamford-based promotion after his contract expires.
“I gotta tell ya, man, if I’m Kross, I’m letting the contract expire because this dude could make a fortune on the open market,” Russo said. (H/T TJR Wrestling)
It will be interesting to see what plans WWE has for the 2025 King of the Ring and if Sami Zayn and Karrion Kross finally lock horns.
