Disappointing Roman Reigns WWE status update - Reports

Roman Reigns hasn't been seen on WWE TV since April and has only wrestled three matches for the company in 2025 so far. Depending on when he returns to the promotion, he may wrestle fewer bouts this year than last, since his total was just six in 2024.

WrestlingNews.co recently took to Instagram to reveal that this statistic now means Roman Reigns is officially regarded as a special attraction by WWE, on the same level as Brock Lesnar.

Brock Lesnar had a similar schedule back in the day. The Beast Incarnate hasn't been seen on WWE TV since SummerSlam 2023, when he lost to Cody Rhodes. Lesnar's status remains unknown at present, with WWE opting to update information about the former World Champion as little as possible.

Fans hoped that Roman Reigns would return at Money in the Bank and cost Seth Rollins the chance to become Mr. MITB, but this wasn't the case, and now SummerSlam appears to be the most likely scenario.

Roman Reigns could return to WWE at SummerSlam

Reigns returned at SummerSlam last year and was able to wrestle in several premium live event matches, including Survivor Series: WarGames.

This year could be the same, which is disappointing for fans who were looking forward to seeing what Reigns does now that The Bloodline is officially over. Paul Heyman betrayed The Tribal Chief at WrestleMania 41, and after being assaulted by Bron Breakker and Seth Rollins on RAW after 'Mania, he went on hiatus.

It's expected that he will want some revenge on Seth Rollins, Paul Heyman, and Breakker, but it's unclear when this will happen since it seems that Heyman and Rollins are already creating their own version of The Bloodline, and at present, The Visionary is the holder of the Money in the Bank briefcase.

Will Reigns return to cost Rollins his chance to become a World Champion in the same way that he cost him his title at WrestleMania 40?
