This week's episode of WWE RAW ended on a surprising note as Gunther dethroned Jey Uso for the World Heavyweight Championship. However, the bigger shock was the sports entertainment juggernaut making a botch just moments after his victory.
Gunther and Jey Uso are no strangers to each other, having battled numerous times in the past year or so. Uso, in fact, defeated The Ring General to win the World Heavyweight Title on Night One of WrestleMania 41.
The Yeet Master successfully defended his gold against Seth Rollins and Logan Paul during his reign of 51 days. Sadly, he failed to do the same against Gunther on the latest edition of RAW.
After a back-and-forth encounter, the Austrian star forced Jey Uso to pass out with a sleeper hold to regain the World Heavyweight Championship. WWE's official X/Twitter handle shared a graphic following his win, but surprisingly, it was one with Gunther holding the Intercontinental Title instead of his current world championship.
The global juggernaut quickly deleted the post and uploaded a new one, where The Ring General can be seen with the World Heavyweight Title.
The major botch notwithstanding, Gunther's new reign as the top champion on RAW has officially started. It will be interesting to see what the future holds for him in the Stamford-based promotion.
