WWE superstar Gunther is on cloud nine since winning back the World Heavyweight Championship from Jey Uso on Monday Night RAW last week. The Ring General caught Jey Uso in a sleeper hold and made him pass out, convincingly winning the bout. He reclaimed the title from Uso within 52 days of losing it at WrestleMania 41.
Apart from being a highly skilled wrestler, he is also a doting father and a husband. He has been married to Jinny Hahn, a former wrestler best known for her tenure in WWE NXT UK between 2018 and 2022. The two tied the knot in 2022, and the couple welcomed their baby son in December 2023. Gunther, who rarely shares anything about his personal life, has shared a rare update by posting a picture of himself holding his son on his Instagram stories.
He shared the post from his wife's Instagram stories, in which Jinny had some words of praise for her husband.
"Happy Father's Day to the most incredible father and husband," wrote Jinny
However, the couple hasn't disclosed their son's name so far. They even hid the child's face with an emoticon. Be that as it may, The Ring General has given his wife and son the best gift for this Father's Day by becoming the WWE World Heavyweight Champion for the second time in the Stamford-based promotion.
It now remains to be seen who will be The Ring General's next opponent. While the winner of the King of the Ring Tournament could be a potential challenger at SummerSlam, rumors state that WWE might have Hall of Famer Goldberg challenge Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship at the next Saturday Night's Main Event.
Former WWE employee Tommy Carlucci revealed an interesting reason as to why WWE booked Gunther to recapture the World Heavyweight Championship. Speaking to Jonathan Coachman on Behind The Turnbuckle Studios' The Coach and Bro Show, Carlucci stated WWE pulled off the title change because The Ring General is a steadier option to carry the belt than the Yeet Master.
"I think the reason why they gave it back to Gunther is he's a steady guy. He's an old-school, big-time heel that's going to carry the strap, and he's going to carry it well," Carlucci said. (From 52:14 to 52:56)
With the Imperium Leader once again becoming the World Heavyweight Champion, it would be interesting to see how he carries it in his second reign.
