Former AEW champion officially signs WWE contract

A former AEW champion showed up on WWE TV a few weeks ago. She has now signed her contract with the company.

Blake Monroe was a top star in AEW as Mariah May. Last year, she won the Women's World Championship. After losing the title to Toni Storm at Grand Slam Australia, she competed in one more match for the promotion before reports surfaced that she had left the company. A few weeks ago, Blake showed up on NXT to interrupt Jacy Jayne's NXT Women's Championship celebration. However, she had not signed her contract.

Tonight on NXT, Blake Monroe came out to finally sign her contract. Before doing so, she addressed the NXT Universe. She noted that this was the best women's division in the world, and coming to the sports entertainment juggernaut has always been her dream. The Glamour then stated that this division now belongs to her, and she intended to redefine what it meant to be a star. Blake then signed her contract, officially becoming a WWE Superstar.

It will be interesting to see if Blake Monroe will be able to replicate the same success she found in All Elite Wrestling.
