5 WWE stars who could switch brands ahead of SummerSlam 2025

Due to different circumstances, several WWE Superstars have gone back and forth on RAW and SmackDown recently. The annual WWE Draft has yet to be announced, but some stars may switch brands before SummerSlam.

This year's Biggest Party of The Summer will be historic. It will be the first non-WrestleMania Premium Live Event to be held across two nights. The PLE is scheduled for August 2 and 3 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Let's look at five WWE Superstars who could switch brands for one reason or another ahead of SummerSlam:

#5. CM Punk, if he beats John Cena at Night of Champions

John Cena is scheduled to defend the Undisputed WWE Championship against CM Punk at Night of Champions. Cena is technically a SmackDown star because he holds the brand's world title, but due to his Farewell Tour, he's been appearing on RAW as well.

If The Second City Saint does the unthinkable and dethrones The Unseen 17 at Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia, he'll be a SmackDown star. He's also going to have to defend the championship at SummerSlam if a SmackDown star wins the King of the Ring tournament.

#4. Roman Reigns is still technically assigned to WWE SmackDown

Roman Reigns has not appeared on television since being taken out by Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker on RAW after WrestleMania 41. However, he could return sooner rather than later, given that Rollins' group is thriving.

The OTC is still technically a SmackDown star, so he'll likely make the switch before SummerSlam to continue his story with Rollins. Reigns would also likely want his revenge on Breakker, who stunned him with a variation of his finishing move.

#3. Jimmy Uso could reunite with Jey Uso on WWE RAW

One of the weak points of RAW is its lackluster tag team division. Reigning World Tag Team Champions Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods are top heels, but they don't have the right babyface teams to defend their gold against on the red brand's show. But what if Adam Pearce makes a move by acquiring Jimmy Uso and reuniting him with Jey Uso?

Woods and Kingston laughed at Jey after he lost the World Heavyweight Championship to Gunther last Monday. One way to revitalize RAW's tag team division is for The Usos to reunite and reignite their historic rivalry with The New Day.

#2. Rey Fenix could get traded to WWE RAW

If the company doesn't like putting Jey Uso back in a tag team, maybe the Triple H-led creative team can have a different pair of brothers reunite. Penta has struggled since his hot start to his WWE career, while Rey Fenix hasn't had a lot of momentum on SmackDown.

The Lucha Bros. have been one of the best tag teams in the world for years. If Triple H wants to revitalize RAW's tag team division, putting Penta and Fenix back together could pay off. The company can afford to put their singles push aside due to the main roster's insane roster depth.

#1. Ron Killings has already appeared on WWE RAW

Before he announced his departure, R-Truth was part of the SmackDown brand. The 53-year-old shocked the world at Money in the Bank when he returned to attack John Cena and help Cody Rhodes pick up the win in the tag team match.

Truth appeared on RAW last Monday, confirming his official comeback before telling fans that he'll now work under his real-life name, Ron Killings. He cut his hair, giving himself a new look. With one surprise entrant in the King of the Ring tournament, Killings could win the entire thing and challenge for a world title at SummerSlam.
