WWE fans lost their minds this past Saturday night. At the end of what was a fantastic edition of Money in the Bank, World Wrestling Entertainment shocked the fans in attendance and those watching all around the world.
The main event of the Money in the Bank Premium Live Event featured Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso battling Logan Paul and John Cena. As things were coming to an end, a masked figure showed up out of nowhere and laid Cena out. The masked figure was then revealed to be R-Truth.
This was shocking, as news had come out indicating that R-Truth's contract wasn't being renewed. This led to an outcry from fans and routine "We want Truth" chants could be heard on RAW, SmackDown, NXT, and even at Money in the Bank.
Now, R-Truth is back in World Wrestling Entertainment, but numerous other stars too have been let go recently. This article will take a look at four names released and let go by the sports entertainment juggernaut who could potentially follow the former United States Champion back to the company.
Below are four recently released stars who could follow R-Truth back to WWE.
Isla Dawn is a Scottish pro wrestler. While she started her career on the indies, she joined WWE through NXT UK. She then later moved to NXT in the United States before being called up to the main roster where she competed on RAW and SmackDown.
While Dawn is no longer with World Wrestling Entertainment, her time in the company is best remembered thanks to her time in The Unholy Union. Isla and Alba Fyre held tag team gold both on NXT and on WWE's main roster.
Given her talent, personality, and how limited the Women's Tag Team Championship scene is, Dawn's release made no sense. Triple H could help fix things by bringing her back, re-aligning her with Alba Fyre, and letting The Unholy Union win tag team gold.
Cora Jade is a young superstar who was recently released by WWE. This surprised many, as she has been closely linked with Bayley, CM Punk, and other well-established names.
Prior to being released, Cora had an on-again and off-again friendship with Roxanne Perez. The two even once held the WWE NXT Women's Tag Team Titles together. They really worked well as a team, as their personalities complemented each other well.
Now, Roxanne is running solo on RAW and has issues with Judgment Day stars Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez. Cora Jade could and should follow R-Truth back and help Roxanne deal with the Women's Tag Team Champions. Who knows, the duo often called "Team 2001" could even dethrone the reigning title holders.
Braun Strowman is one of the most successful big men in modern pro wrestling history. He has held the RAW Tag Team Titles in WWE, he has headlined big PLEs, and Braun even captured the Universal Championship.
The Monster of All Monsters was recently let go by WWE, but he still will have an interesting affiliation with the company. Braun will be starring in a USA Network show called Everything on the Menu with Braun Strowman, which is interestingly produced by World Wrestling Entertainment.
Given that he is still affiliated with the company anyway, Braun being brought back to RAW or SmackDown makes sense. He can be a part-timer who comes in for a feud and then focuses on projects away from the ring. This would be the best use of the former world champion.
Dakota Kai is a phenomenal wrestler. The Kiwi wrestled all over the world before joining WWE. She briefly competed in NXT UK and in the Mae Young Classic before later finding success on NXT, RAW, and SmackDown.
Prior to her release, Dakota was a member of Damage CTRL. She was part of the WWE stable from the very start, alongside Bayley and IYO SKY. She remained aligned with SKY until the end.
Kai is another example of a release that made no sense. She was a perfect candidate for the Women's Intercontinental Championship and she could always strengthen the tag team scene. She is the kind of star you keep long-term and Triple H must bring her back.
