2-time World Champion to face John Cena for the WWE Title after massive character change? Potential explored

John Cena has been quite dominant in the ring since his massive heel turn at WWE Elimination Chamber. The Franchise Player has dubbed himself the Last Real Champion since winning the WWE Championship and has defended it against one of his biggest rivals, Randy Orton.

Cena was seen in action at Money in the Bank, teaming up with Logan Paul to take on Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso in a tag team match. The battle was action-packed until R-Truth made a huge return. His interference cost Cena the match and allowed Rhodes to hit Cross Rhodes and pin The Cenation Leader to stand tall.

Truth’s return was quite surprising, as he had announced just a few days ago that his contract would not be renewed and that he had been released by the company. The fans were utterly disappointed by the news of his departure, which seemed to be the reason WWE brought him back, and that too straight as the centerpiece of the storyline.

Truth has had a lot of accomplishments in his legendary career, including two incredible runs as the NWA World Champion. However, the former United States Champion has never held a world title in WWE. With his return to the company for one final run, this may be the perfect opportunity to make history.

R-Truth has changed his character since his return, appearing much more serious compared to his previous version, which fans loved for its comedy and jokes. With this new character, Truth might challenge John Cena for the Undisputed WWE Championship at an event like Night of Champions.

This could be the perfect way to book a rematch from Saturday Night’s Main Event, featuring R-Truth in a high-stakes match with the title on the line. This could leave the fans elated, with hope for Truth to make history and shock the world.

Cody Rhodes addressed R-Truth's return to WWE

The ending moments of Money in the Bank were filled with surprises, thanks to the incredible return of R-Truth.

Cody Rhodes addressed this return during the post-show press conference, stating that fans wanted to bring back the legend, and the company always wants to cater to that, which is why Truth was brought back.

"The truth is you guys wanted Truth, and it's always our job, everybody up here, everybody over here, Triple H, Nick Khan, it's always our job to give you what you want, so thank you guys for letting us know," Cody Rhodes said.

While Triple H admitted that it was all a ‘part of the show’ earlier on the same night, it seemingly was not. However, with Truth back now, it will be interesting to see what the future holds for the legend.
