The case was covered in the Crime Junkie podcast episode titled MURDERED: Jennifer Farber Dulos, which aired on June 16, 2025, and is availble on multiple platforms.

Five terrifying facts about the murder of Jennifer Dulos

1) Blood evidence was discovered in Jennifer's garage

As per ABC News, blood stains were discovered on the floor of Jennifer Dulos' garage along with a vehicle parked within her home. Investigators believed this to be the scene of a violent attack.

According to the outlet, authorities believed that shortly after she returned home from school to drop her children off, Jennifer was murdered in her garage on May 24, 2019, between 8:05 a.m. and 10:25 a.m. The presence of blood and indications of a fight at her home pointed to an attack.

2) Surveillance footage and disposed of evidence cast suspicion on Fotis Dulos

As per NBC Connecticut, on the evening of Jennifer's disappearance, surveillance cameras caught Fotis Dulos and Michelle Troconis going to Hartford, Connecticut. Over four miles, they were seen stopping at more than 30 locations, tossing multiple garbage bags in several trash cans.

These bags held zip ties, clothes, and cleaning equipment stained with Jennifer's blood, as per the outlet. Connecting Fotis and Troconis to the cover-up effort and the crime was made possible by this footage.

3) The "Alibi Scripts" uncovered further linked Fotis Dulos to the case

As per FOX5, police uncovered handwritten notes referred to as "alibi scripts" during their inquiry. These were two pages of minute narratives written by Fotis Dulos and Michelle Troconis outlining what they would tell authorities about their whereabouts and actions on the day Jennifer vanished.

Later admitting that the tales were untrue, Troconis showed a concerted effort to deceive police and hide their participation in Jennifer's disappearance, the outlet reported.

4) Zip ties and Jennifer's car were discovered abandoned via surveillance footage

As per ABC News, authorities claimed that Fotis Dulos tied Jennifer with zip ties following the assault on her. They alleged that he then drove away from the site in her car. Surveillance footage reportedly showed Jennifer's SUV leaving her house at 10:25 am on the day she went missing, according to arrest warrants.

The car was subsequently discovered abandoned three miles away, close to Waveny Park, without any traces of Jennifer. Her vehicle and the zip ties within it provided another dimension to the crime, demonstrating planning and a wish to conceal evidence.

5) Fotis Dulos, Michelle Troconis, and Kent Mawhineey were charged

As per NBC Connecticut, murder, felony murder, and kidnapping charges were brought against Fotis Dulos for the murder of Jennifer Dulos. Although maintaining his innocence, Fotis' lawyer, Kent Mawhinney, was charged with conspiracy to commit murder and served 11 months. On June 13, 2025, he pleaded guilty to a lesser charge, the outlet reported.

Michelle Troconis was found guilty on six counts, including conspiracy to commit murder, and sentenced to 14 and a half years in prison in 2024, as per NBC News.
