Singer-songwriter Hozier announced the cancelation of some of his shows on X on June 9, 2025. He wrote that because had had come down with a virus, he had to cancel some shows that were a part of his summer tour. The postponed dates are part of a limited run of summer performances for his album Unreal Unearth. He also noted that he would be postponing the shows in New Jersey and Missouri due to the same illness.
Hozier made the announcement one day after he performed as a headliner at New York City’s Governors Ball festival. While the singer and his band managed to make it through their set, he confirmed that he and some bandmates were unwell, and needed time to recover.
Hozier's next show on June 15, 2025, will still go ahead but the decision to delay the concerts in Missouri and New Jersey has raised concerns among fans. The singer has since taken to social media to thank audiences for their patience and support during this health setback and apologized for the inconvenience.
Hozier was originally scheduled to perform at Camden, New Jersey’s Freedom Mortgage Pavilion on June 10 and Thunder Ridge Nature Arena in Ridgedale, Missouri on June 12. Both shows have now been rescheduled due to his illness, with new dates set for July.
In a June 9, 2025, post shared via X, the singer shared details regarding cancellation and rescheduling.
“The Camden show will now take place on July 15, and the Ridgedale show will take place on July 22."
Hozier also confirmed that all previously purchased tickets will be honored for the new dates and added that ticket holders will receive additional details by email. He also confirmed that his next scheduled show on June 15, 2025, at Bonnaroo, Tennessee, will be held as per schedule. No other tour dates have been affected as of now.
The announcement came after Hozier’s Sunday night performance at the Governors Ball, where he delivered a full set but hinted at being under the weather. Although his vocals were largely intact, the Take Me To Church singer showed signs of fatigue and spoke candidly to the crowd about his condition.
He acknowledged feeling unwell on stage with a joke, referencing moments where his voice cracked during the set, according to a Billboard story from June 10, 2025.
“For anybody who has never seen me before, I promise I sound at least 5% better on average. I am haunted, I am stricken, by the specter of puberty one more time," he said.
Despite the challenges, the crowd offered support throughout, and the singer took to X the next day to share his appreciation, along with snapshots from the show.
“Thank you to @GovBallNYC for having me last night and to the crowd in NYC for being so kind while I struggled through this virus. You gave me such a lift, so much love.”

The affected shows were part of a short run of summer dates in support of Hozier’s 2023 album Unreal Unearth, which debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200. Since its original release, the album has received additional expansions, including Unreal Unearth: Unending, which dropped in December 2023.
While fans in New Jersey and Missouri will have to wait a little longer, the tour will continue as scheduled for now, pending further updates from the artist. Hozier has not issued any additional cancellations at this time.
