On June 12, 2025, BTS' Kim Taehyung gained over 500,000 Instagram followers within 48 hours of his discharge from mandatory military service.
Taehyung enlisted for military service on December 11, 2023, alongside fellow bandmate Kim Namjoon. After completing five weeks of basic training, he underwent an additional three weeks at the Army General Administration School. Subsequently, he was deployed to the 2nd Army Corps of Chuncheon, Gangwon Province.
BTS's V's latest social media milestone quickly circulated online and went viral. Fans shared numerous congratulatory snippets, with one X user tweeting:

"At our base, there remain many executive officers and brave soldiers who took great care of me. I hope you get discharged without getting hurt and train safely and get discharged safe and sound."
He further added:
