“National treasure”- Internet react as K-media arrives early at BTS Taehyung’s base, showcases heartfelt support banners from fans

K-media reportedly reached BTS’ Kim Taehyung's military site ahead of his official discharge, showcasing celebratory banners and projects held by fans. On June 9, 2025, approximately a day ahead of Kim Taehyung's return, several media outlets flocked to the streets of Chuncheon.

V was deployed at the 2nd Army Corps Unit in Chuncheon, South Korea. The media outlets shared multiple images of banners and posters draped around the streets of Chuncheon, displaying messages and slogans.

These banners, a part of the 'V Road' or the 'Purple Ribbon Project', were created by the fans and supporters of the Layover singer in commemoration of his 18-month military service conclusion on June 10, 2025.

Netizens expressed pride as Kim Taehyung received love from Korean fans and the South Korean press, sharing their thoughts about the fans’ projects online.

"National treasure," a fan said.
"K-media reached Taehyung’s base almost 17 hours early… and honestly, that’s exactly how it should be. THE FATHER OF K-POP IS RETURNING!!!" a netizen stated.

Fans continued to share their excitement.

Fans looked forward to BTS' V's reaction to the banners and slogans dedicated to him.

Global fans celebrate BTS’ Kim Taehyung’s military discharge through different fan projects

V, aka Kim Taehyung of BTS, is all geared up for his discharge from the military on Tuesday, June 10, 2025. Fans have been eagerly anticipating the Slow Dancing singer's return to civilian life and his upcoming activities as an idol.

According to Star News, a Chinese fan base of the BTS vocalist reportedly displayed large-screen messages from subway lines 1 to 8 in Seoul, South Korea. These messages were seen in over 54 stations, using 120 LED screens.

The message stated:

"We will be with you at every moment of your life.”

Another Chinese fanbase, active on the social media platform Weibo, ran a display truck project for V’s discharge, which would take rounds near the HYBE LABELS headquarters in Seoul. The fanbase reportedly shared their intention to commemorate this moment along with other people in the city.

In addition, BTS’s V fans in Thailand ran a digital advertisement project reportedly through a large screen at Lido Connect in Bangkok. Notably, Lido Connect is a renowned cultural complex and an entertainment hub with shopping spaces.

Furthermore, a Bangladeshi fan base of the K-pop idol took an initiative by donating to a nonprofit organization named the SOS Children's Villages Bangladesh. The fans celebrated the BTS member's comeback through the donation, which will provide aid to underprivileged children through education and protection.


Meanwhile, BTS’s Kim Taehyung will be relieved from his respective military bases on June 10, 2025.
