Is new music on the way? Gracie Abrams drops cryptic teaser for upcoming release
Gracie Abrams teased her fans and followers with new music. On Sunday, June 8, 2025, she shared a short 15-second clip on her Instagram and X accounts, hinting at what appeared to be unreleased music. The teaser ignited discussions in the comment section about her preparing for another release. In the captions, she kept it simple, writing ":D."
It wasn't the first time Abrams teased her fans that she was working on new music. Earlier in the week, on June 4, she shared a series of images of her working in a makeshift music studio, including one of her holding a microphone. She didn't reveal anything else and left the captions blank.
So far, there is no confirmation that Gracie Abrams will be releasing any music soon. However, with the teasers from the singer-songwriter, fans online can't help but notice and speculate that she's working on something. If she does release new music, it will come after her album The Secret of Us, her most successful project to date.
The 13-track album was released in June 2024, with the deluxe version, featuring four new tracks and live recordings, following in October of the same year. The Secret of Us peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and remained on the charts for 49 weeks. It also topped the Top Album Sales chart for one week. Some of the songs on the album include That's So True, I Love You, I'm Sorry, and Us featuring Taylor Swift.
Gracie Abrams previously teased a new album by the end of 2025
The Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter previously hinted at having a new album out before the end of 2025. In her interview with Nylon, published on December 17, 2024, she revealed that she will be writing "a lot" during her London trip in January.
"I'll be just chilling. I'll be writing. I'll be writing a lot," she said.
Although she wasn't directly quoted regarding the release of her next album, Nylon said in the article that Gracie Abrams has been "plugging away with [Aaron] Dessner" at New York's Electric Lady Studios. The outlet also mentioned that Abrams believes a new record could be coming out "by the end of 2025."
Another hint that she might release a new album a little over a year after The Secret Of Us came out is what she said next.
"I am inspired by Taylor [Swift] in a million ways, but especially by the pace with which she puts things out into the world. There's less pressure the more you release—that's how I consider it for myself," she told Nylon.
She also revealed that she "wants to just keep it coming" while she's writing as frequently as she does.
Currently, Gracie Abrams is still on her The Secret Of Us Deluxe Tour, with upcoming dates in Belgium and the UK scheduled for the end of June. She will also be performing at the Glastonbury Festival on June 27 and the Open'er Festival in Poland on July 2, among other events.
