"no f***ing way that n***a died"
@rizzlernews, the source of the photo, can be traced from the watermark in the middle-left corner. The account posted the picture on Thursday, June 12.
Needless to mention, the tweet referred to an animated character from a virtual musical band, and not a real person. Hence, Theodore from Alvin and the Chipmunks cannot be dead in a realistic sense.
Moreover, @rizzlernews' bio on X describes the page as "Satire", adding:
"This is NOT real news. Creating Viral Memes"
The tweet can be concluded as a meme.
American songwriter Ross Bagdasarian, who also went by his stage moniker, Dave Seville, created the virtual band, Alvin and the Chipmunks, in 1958. It was originally titled David Seville and the Chipmunks. The cartoon creation has eventually built its own franchise, with a number of animated shows, movies, and CGI films made on it.
However, Theodore Seville's definite age has never been mentioned in the franchise. Hence, his age mentioned in the viral tweet is not factual information.
The series is based on Dave Seville, a human character who adopted three chipmunk brothers—Alvin, Simon, and Theodore.
Alvin Seville, the chipmunk in the red hoodie and the protagonist, is the band's frontman and a mischief-maker who often lands his brothers and Dave in trouble. He is portrayed to be sweet and caring towards them.
Simon Seville, the tallest among the chipmunks, in a blue hoodie and glasses, is shown to be the smartest in the group. He engages in science experiments. His relationship with Alvin is not linear, as they often disagree on things, with the latter sometimes exploiting his intelligence. Regardless, they have a love/hate bond.
Theodore Seville, the youngest chipmunk in a green hoodie, is adored by fans. He is depicted as the kindest of the brothers, who is known for his giggles. Theodore also has culinary skills and is seen cooking for his siblings.
Apart from animations, the first CGI film titled Alvin and the Chipmunks came out in 2007. The movie had 3 sequels, released respectively in 2009, 2011, and 2015. In neither of the films nor previous shows made on the chipmunk brothers, Theodore Seville ever died. The viral tweet can be interpreted as a meme, meant for entertainment purposes.
