Paris Hilton found herself at the center of a social media debate after demonstrating her unconventional method for removing excess grease from pizza in a recent TikTok video. The heiress and reality TV star showcased her hack by pressing the top of a pizza slice firmly against the inside lid of a cardboard pizza box, visibly soaking up oil before taking a satisfied bite.
While Paris Hilton confidently declared "That’s my trick" in the clip, the video quickly drew mixed reactions from viewers. Many commenters expressed concern about the hygiene of using a pizza box surface.
Despite the online skepticism, Paris Hilton stood by her technique during an exclusive interview with PEOPLE at the Tribeca Festival in New York City on Saturday, June 7. She was attending the world premiere of her new movie, The Trainer, when she addressed the viral moment head-on, providing crucial context about the video's setting.
"It was a brand new pizza box, so it wasn't from some random place," Paris Hilton clarified regarding the footage that sparked the debate.
She emphasized the box was specifically provided "for the photo shoot," countering assumptions that it was a used container. The Cooking with Paris star remained firm in her endorsement of the method, simply stating, "It is a good hack," while promoting her latest film project alongside co-stars Julia Fox and Vito Schnabel.
The pizza hack discussion occurred as Paris Hilton focused attention on her acting role in The Trainer, directed by Tony Kaye. The film follows Schnabel’s character Jack Flex, who navigates Los Angeles while desperately trying to feature his eccentric fitness gadget on a home shopping channel.
Hilton explained her involvement, as she recounted Schnabel personally reaching out.
"I've been friends with Vito for many, many years. He called me and said, ‘Paris, you are the missing piece to this movie...’ So it took a little bit of working on my schedule, but we did it."
This isn't the only venture keeping Paris Hilton busy. In December 2024, she and former Simple Life co-star Nicole Richie partnered with Sonic Drive-In, launching signature drinks alongside their Peacock special Paris & Nicole: Encore. The collaboration nods to their iconic 2003 Sonic episode, where they were famously fired after one day.
Hilton reminisced about the experience during the PEOPLE interview,
"We ate a lot. We took a lot of lunch breaks," with Richie adding her own praise for the chain's food.
Paris is preparing for her upcoming feature concert documentary, Infinite Icon, according to an exclusive Variety report. It will release worldwide in 2026 and presents a deeply personal journey, structured across five dynamic chapters, revealing how music served as a vital lifeline for her.
Combining live performances, unseen home videos, behind-the-scenes glimpses, rare archives, and intimate interviews, the documentary traces her path from her debut album Paris through private struggles and public reinvention to the creation of her 2024 follow-up, Infinite Icon.
Hilton continues balancing business ventures, entertainment projects, and the occasional viral life hack. Recently, the socialite headlined two Pride festivals, as posted on her Instagram account, and even helped raise donations for the LGBTQIA+ community.
