Real Madrid are working to improve their squad after an underwhelming 2024-25 campaign. The LaLiga giants have already roped in Dean Huijsen and Trent Alexander-Arnold this summer.
Meanwhile, Los Blancos have won the race to sign an Argentine starlet this summer. Elsewhere, Arsenal are interested in Rodrygo.
On that note, let's look at the major Real Madrid transfer stories from June 7, 2025.
Real Madrid have reached an agreement with River Plate for the services of Franco Mastantuono, according to MARCA (via Madrid Universal). The highly rated Argentine talent was also wanted by Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), but it now appears that Los Blancos have beaten them to his services.
The LaLiga giants will apparently pay the Argentine side around €45m for the 17-year-old, with the amount to be paid in four instalments. Mastantuono has reportedly agreed on personal terms ahead of the move and will sign a six-year deal until 2031.
An announcement is likely to come next week, but the Argentine is unlikely to feature for Los Blancos at the FIFA Club World Cup, beginning June 14. River Plate are eager for the player to represent them at this summer's tournament.
Arsenal are keeping a close eye on Rodrygo, according to acclaimed journalist Fabrizio Romano. The Brazilian's future at Real Madrid remains up in the air, and the Gunners are apparently plotting to prise him away this summer.
Speaking on his YouTube channel 'Fabrizio Romano,' as cited by CaughtOffside, Romano said Los Blancos have yet to receive an offer for Rodrygo.
“Rodrygo is a player appreciated by Arsenal. There are no doubts about that. For sure he’s a player they like. For sure Arsenal will add an important winger this season to the squad. So Arsenal will be busy in the next weeks, the striker, the winger. So it’s going to be an important window for Arsenal. We all know that,” said Romano.
He continued:
“Rodrygo is a player they like internally. I would say of course a great player, a top top player. But at the moment, my understanding is that Real Madrid are yet to receive any official approach, official talks, bid or whatever.”
He concluded:
“At the moment is an internal appreciation for Rodrygo, but Real Madrid are yet to receive any formal proposal or any formal approach. Let’s see what Arsenal will decide to do. Probably will also depend on the budget. How much they have to spend on the winger. This is going to be important.”
The Brazilian's contract with the LaLiga giants runs until 2028.
Real Madrid are ready to listen to offers for Alvaro Rodriguez this summer, according to MARCA (via Madrid Universal). The 20-year-old forward spent the last season on loan at Getafe and is now back at the Santiago Bernabeu.
However, his future is up in the air, with Rodriguez no longer guaranteed regular football with Los Blancos. The club understand that he needs regular game time to continue his development.
As such, the LaLiga giants are willing to let him go either on loan or on a permanent transfer. However, they are likely to insert smart clauses in his deal, like a buy-back clause or a sell-on clause.
