According to MARCA (via Madrid Universal), Real Madrid are set to secure a €15 million windfall from the sale of former defender Miguel Gutierrez. The Spanish defender, who currently plays for LaLiga side Girona, has been linked with a move to recently crowned Italian champions Napoli.
Gutierrez came through the La Fabrica youth development system before moving to Girona for a reported €4 million fee in the summer of 2022. Despite selling the left-back, Los Blancos held on to 50% of the defender's economic rights.
Gutierrez has played 112 games for Girona since he moved to the club three years ago, scoring six goals and providing 19 assists. His contract with the club runs until the summer of 2027, giving the Catalan side a healthy position in negotiations with Napoli.
As per the report, Napoli are set to make a €30 million bid for Gutierrez's signature, which could see Real Madrid bag €15 million. Juventus and AC Milan are also reportedly interested in the Spaniard.
Former Real Madrid star Guti bizarrely criticized Barcelona teenager Lamine Yamal for his choice of clothing. Guti took exception to Yamal wearing his hat on backwards in the buildup to the UEFA Nations League final between Spain and Portugal.
Speaking about his displeasure at the 17-year-old's wardrobe choices on El Chiringuito TV, Guti said (via Get Spanish Football News):
“I didn’t like Lamine Yamal going to the press conference with his hat turned backwards. You do these things on vacation or in your personal life, not with the club or the national team.”
Lamine Yamal and Spain lost the Nations League final against Portugal on penalties, with Real Madrid legend Cristiano Ronaldo getting on the score sheet during the game.
