LaLiga president Javier Tebas has lauded Barcelona youngster Lamine Yamal, while comparing him to Lionel Messi. He has insisted that Yamal's development at such a young age is a great example of academy players becoming world-class footballers.
Yamal has already made a name for himself at just 17, becoming a key player for both Barcelona and Spain. Following a stellar season with La Blaugrana, he has even emerged as one of the frontrunners for the Ballon d'Or.
Javier Tebas has claimed that Yamal has shown that academy players can become world beaters just like Lionel Messi. He also insisted that the teenage prodigy is already one of the best players in world football.
The LaLiga president said, as quoted by Tribuna:
“His performances prove that club academy players, just like Messi, can become world stars. Yamal still has a long way to go, but as of today, he is already recognized as one of the best in the world."
Lamine Yamal has been widely compared to Lionel Messi following his sensational showings at a very young age. He has already made 106 appearances for Barcelona, scoring 25 goals and producing 34 assists in the process.
The Spanish wonderkid has already won four trophies with La Blaugrana so far, including two LaLiga titles. He also played a key role in helping Spain win Euro 2024 and finish runners-up in the UEFA Nations League 2025.
Argentine wonderkid Franco Mastantuono, who looks destined to join Real Madrid, has hailed Lionel Messi as the greatest of all time. As per Fabrizio Romano, Los Blancos are set to secure the signature of the highly rated attacking midfielder from River Plate.
The teenager recently made his debut for Argentina in a 1-0 win against Chile where he was introduced off the bench in the 84th minute. He became the youngest debutant for the Albiceleste, aged just 17 years and 296 days.
Following the game, Mastantuono posted a picture with Lionel Messi on social media. The caption read:
"The greatest ever."
Mastantuono has been likened to Messi thanks to his incredible left foot, brilliant ball control and creativity. He has made 61 appearances for River Plate to date, scoring 10 goals and producing seven assists.
