Chelsea reportedly have a five-man shortlist ready as they look to bolster their centre-back options. The Blues are working on deals, but are currently focused on the FIFA Club World Cup.
Bobby Vincent was on football.london recently when he named Jorrel Hato as one of the key targets for Chelsea. He went on to name Murillo, Jarrad Branthwaite, Marc Guehi, and Tomas Araujo on the list, as they look to reshape the squad.
Vincent said in a Q&A:
"Plenty of names on the club's radar. Hato is one of them, yes, but also the likes of Murillo, Jarrad Branthwaite, Marc Guehi and Tomas Araujo."
Former striker Tore Andre Flo spoke to AceOdds earlier this month and urged the Blues to re-sign Geuhi. He opined that the Crystal Palace captain and their former academy star was ideal for the squad, saying:
"I know Marc because I coached him when he was younger. I worked for the academy for a few years. He's a great boy and I would love for him to be at Chelsea. He's such a strong defender. He's quick and he would fight for you and for the club. That would be a very good signing."
Newcastle United and Liverpool are also interested in Marc Guehi this summer.
Former player Shaun Wright-Phillips spoke to Betway earlier this month and opined that Chelsea were making a mistake by letting Kepa Arrizabalaga leave. He said the goalkeeper had done well at AFC Bournemouth and should be given another chance at Stamford Bridge.
He said (via TribalFootball):
"I'm confused. I don't understand. It's like nobody's been watching Kepa this season. He's been unbelievable. He is part of the reason why Bournemouth finished where they finished. The defence was outstanding, but Kepa was unbelievable, as well, I thought. I assumed while the season was going on that Chelsea didn't need to buy a goalkeeper because Kepa was going back anyway, but that isn't to be the case."
He added:
"Most managers now are looking for goalkeepers that are good with their feet. I think Kepa's alright with his feet, but he might not be at the level they want him to be. But for me, it's a real strange one."
Arsenal are set to sign Kepa Arrizabalaga for a reported £5 million fee. He signed a one-year deal before leaving on loan last summer to protect his value and secure a transfer fee for the Blues.
