Liverpool forward ready to force his way out of club as Reds close in on deal for Florian Wirtz: Reports
Federico Chiesa is reportedly pushing for an exit from Liverpool just one year after joining the club. The Italian forward's game-time could be reduced even further if the Reds complete a deal to sign Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz.
As per a report in The Mirror, Chiesa is looking to move back to Italy. The winger started just one game in the Premier League during their title-winning season and is concerned about how much time he will get on the pitch in the 2025-26 campaign.
Chiesa wants to play for Italy in the FIFA World Cup next year and reportedly believes that it is ideal for him to leave. He has interest from Serie A clubs, who have seen him in action for Juventus and Fiorentina in the past.
Liverpool are reportedly open to letting him leave, just a year after signing him from Juventus for £10 million. He has been plagued by injury issues and Arne Slot does not believe that the winger can be relied upon.
Moreover, the Reds are pushing to sign Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen this summer. They have submitted a €130 million bid, while the asking price remains €150 million, according to BILD.

Federico Chiesa spoke to Corriere dello Sport on Friday and stated that he will have a discussion about his future with the Liverpool hierarchy this summer. The Italian forward added that he was open to staying at Liverpool. He said (via The Mirror):
"The year is over. But it's an experience I would do again. Soon I will sit down at the table with the club, Fali (Ramadani, his agent) and my family to find the best solution. I wouldn't mind staying in Liverpool at all. You accept the choices as a professional and you move on. In the first few months there were many difficulties, if you think that I arrived in Liverpool on August 26 and found myself catapulted to another planet, with other teammates, without having trained with them."
"At the beginning I felt the frustration of the radical change and of being far behind the group, then there was the injury. Could I start to discuss the choices of Slot who has always been very respectful towards me, as well as the club? The desire to play was there, I put it aside, I understood the situation."
Chiesa played six matches in the Premier League and three times in the UEFA Champions League last season. He scored twice for Liverpool - once each in the FA Cup and the Carabao Cup.
