Belgium will face Wales at the King Baudouin Stadium on Monday in another round of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. The home side have struggled for results in recent games and will be keen to turn a corner in a bid to clinch a fourth consecutive World Cup appearance and perhaps make amends for their group-stage exit in Qatar back in 2022.
They played out a 1-1 draw against North Macedonia in their opening qualifying game on Friday and had looked set to be headed toward maximum points thanks to a close-range strike from Maxim De Cuyper in the first half before their opponents snatched a point four minutes from normal time.
Wales, meanwhile, have enjoyed a bright start to their World Cup qualifying campaign. They picked up their second win of the qualifiers in a comfortable 3-0 home victory over Liechtenstein on Friday, featuring goals from three different players, including Leeds United defender Joe Rodon, who netted his maiden international strike.
The visitors sit atop Group J with seven points from an obtainable nine and will be targeting a positive result this weekend in what could be their toughest test of the qualifiers.
The Red Devils are on a run of consecutive unbeaten outings after losing five of their previous six games. They will be gutted not to have come away with maximum points in North Macedonia, and that should provide extra motivation for Monday's game.
The Dragons are unbeaten in their last nine games across all competitions, picking up five wins in that period. They have, however, struggled for results in this fixture of late and could lose this one.
